There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people: psychopaths and mystery writers. -Castle
I. Love. Mysteries.
But mysteries are in my blood.
My mom devoured Agatha Christie books, and we spent every weekday afternoon when I was a teen watching reruns of Murder, She Wrote, Matlock, and Magnum, P.I., to name a few.
And I LOVED them.
I also loved action-adventure movies and Jane Austen and sci-fi, but my favorite things rarely made it onto the page. Until January 2009, when I started to write my first book.
I didn’t set out to write a mystery, but when it was all said and done, my sister told me, “You’re a mystery writer.” And I can’t ever win an argument with her.
So in November 2010, after the longest year and a half of my life, I released my first official mystery novel, Dead Locked. Four years and five books later, writing each novel is still an epic quest all its own. It can be frustrating sometimes, I won’t lie, but it’s still gorgeous fun!
When I’m not writing, you may find me baking, reading mysteries and YA sci-fi/fantasy novels, watching action-adventure movies, or dancing around to my newest favorite alt rock or pop song.
